Bringing Dragonflies Indoors

Even for the most avid dragonfly lovers, whether you live in the hottest part of the South, or the coldest part of the Great Plains, there are going to be times of year when it is not so much fun to be outside watching dragonflies.

At those times of year you may have to be content with bringing dragonflies indoors. No, I don’t mean catching them and trying to set up an indoor habitat. (I’m not even sure that’s possible.) I mean with beautiful, tasteful home decor such as wall decals that look like they have been painted directly on your walls.

For example, a wall decal can be a simple drawing that suggests a peaceful pond with reeds and a dragonfly, or it can be an elegantly lettered quotation that brings meaning to a room in a subtle way. I love this one, which you can get in a huge array of sizes and colors:

May you touch dragonflies & stars, dance with fairies & talk to the moon. May you grow up with love & gracious hearts & people who care. Welcome to the world little one, it’s been waiting for you!

You can also have your favorite dragonfly photo printed on canvas, or even design your own wall decal. There are several smart options for bringing dragonflies indoors to enjoy in the off seasons and in bad weather—and to let you live with dragonflies all year long.
