Another idyll

The aptly-named Lily Tarn.

One of the many highlights during a spectacular walk on Loughrigg Fell, on our very first day in the Lakes. Starting from our holiday cottage, we walked up to Loughrigg Tarn, then on to the summit of the fell, before returning via this idyllic spot. Iestyn did it all (nearly 10km) under his own steam and Aurelia did a fair amount of walking too, spurred on by a newfound fascination with sheep dung. Wildlife (a pair of deer, a slow worm, four species of dragonfly and two of damselfly) in abundance and some magnificent views.

A cracking start to a wonderful holiday.
