As yet unidentified. Looks sorta like Libellula saturata, the flame skimmer, but for all I know, there could be a dozen species that all look alike to my unpracticed eye.
But I’m increasingly thinking it’s saturata. The neon skimmer, corceipennis, doesn’t have the coloring all the way to the trailing edge of the hindwing. And it looks like this is a male, as the female isn’t as brightly colored.
Why can’t these insects clean up a bit before posing? That crap on the left forewing kinda ruins the photo.
