Langdale Park is a wilderness area on the Withlacoochee River at the north edge of Valdosta.

I’ve got the book Dragonflies and Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast by Giff Beaton. And I’m trying id all the species that I can. I’m think that I have this one correct, but I’d appreciate a correction, if I’m wrong.

The female of this species is almost identical to the female Slaty Skimmer. The difference is that the Great Blue Skimmer has an entirely white "face" (where the term "face" means the part in front of the eyes). My photo appears to have an entirely white face. But maybe part of the face which is not visible is not white and this is a female Slaty Skimmer.
