Here goes..I love Dragons. The Hairy is a local species I haven’t yet seen. Last week I took a trip to Hampshire in the hope of seeing one. I *think* I saw one in flight, but it wouldn’t land No Luck.
So I decided to stay local today, and headed to Studland instead.
On the whole, Dragons have been in short supply so far, so I didn’t hold out much hope. It’s a glorious area though. So nothing to lose!
BUT! I have had just the best two days ever. Watching Dragons that is. I don’t think I have ever seen so many different species in one place ever.
ID’ing has been a challenge. Many Dragons were teneral and that makes it even harder to identify them.
Next problem, with the sun beating down, the Dragons were very active. If these was ever a reason to respect just how unpredictable wildlife is, this was it. No time or chances for waiting for posed shots. The Dragons wouldn’t have it.
With time running out and new species hatching all the time, I am *fairly* confident I have seen Hairy Dragons, but I just need some confirmation from someone more knowledgeable than me. :/
It may take me some time to catch up with everyone. I have been very busy with stuff and life in general. Hope you are all ok and have enjoyed the sun
