Springwater Dancer

Yippee, a very tiny, very lucky catch with my macro lens of a Springwater Dancer damselfly. This cobalt blue beauty landed just in front of me while I was taking photos of a humming bird in a nearby red yucca plant. The Russian sage spring it perched on was just 1 foot from my lens and you’d better believe I was holding as still as I could to try for this shot. A look at the large view shows that not only is the damselfly blue, the black detail and the eyes have a distinctly cobalt hue too. Here is an article I found online about this Odonata wonder:
