Sympetrum corruptum (Variegated Meadowhawk) (crop)

Zoomed in on, on a ridge in Sunol Regional Wilderness

from another website (creagrus.home.montereybay.com/VariegatedMeadowhawk.html) :
"A close-up view of the upper right wing shows the double row of cells between the radial sector and the radial planate (illustrated above by blue outlines), which separates this species (Variegated Meadowhawk – Sympetrum corruptum) from Striped Meadowhawk S. pallipes and Cardinal Meadowhawk S. illotum"

Wikipedia says "Variegated Meadowhawks live near ponds, lakes, and swamps", but this lady was hanging out 1000 feet up a mountain ridge, about half a mile from the nearest stream…
